OH GURLLLL, SHE eventFUL :

THIS GAY WEEK:
MUSICALS ARE GAY!
[It doesn’t make you gay if you enjoy them]
Musicals are all about icky acceptance, and loving who you happen to be, and embracing difference, and expressing yourself, and strutting with confidence, and bravely fighting on the trenches of the French resistance with a cockney accent, and empty chairs at empty tables [Ok - it’s not a perfect metaphor].
This week though, the Cockney French are nowhere to be seen - so thrust out your Geri Halliwell Brittania sequins and proudly DRAG YOURSELF to the Musicals at Albany Theatre with glorious Divina De Campo as our 2460-Hun, or strut around Lakeview Park taking in Autumn’s queer nature, or BREAK FREE at The Best of Queen at Belgrade Theatre. Be SO camp you’d make John Barrowman proud. [Don’t worry - he’s on his way later in Autumn].
However you choose to spend your week, have a proper GAY one hun.
Lots of love,
The Autumn Alliance.
The sass be with you!
HIGHLIGHTS:
STRIDE WITH PRIDE
LAKEVIEW PARK: Lake View Rd, Coventry CV5 8GS
Created by Sherbourne Valley Project as part of Autumn Is Queer.
Following the waterway and winding through gentle countryside and quiet lanes, the Stride With Pride route offers all a peaceful escape just beyond the bustle of town. As you follow the path, you'll pass through open fields, hedgerows, and patches of woodland, with occasional glimpses of distant rooftops and local landmarks.
The trail is approachable and scenic, ideal for a relaxed stroll or reflective walk, inviting you to slow down and appreciate the subtle beauty of this hidden natural landmark.
Look out for Mallard ducks, hedgehogs, bat homes, fungi and much much more. What a fabulous reason to go for a stroll somewhere new.

Sari Stories
MAC BIRMINGHAM
From our Allies in the far off land of… Birmingham.
Every sari has a story, and we’re sharing yours.
Presented by Midlands Arts Centre and Sampad South Asian Arts and Heritage, Sari Stories shares joyful and moving reflections on the sari, submitted through an open call by individuals across the Midlands.
From climbing mountains and running marathons in saris, to hand crafted saris passed down through family, to expressions of gender and queer identity explored through the beautiful material, this exhibition weaves together a rich collection of stories.
Sari Stories is part of Sari Season at MAC, June–Nov 2025.
Kindly made possible by Arts Council England and players of People's Postcode Lottery.
The Offbeat Sari by Himanshu Verma is a testament to the LGBTQ+ agenda of visibility, self-expression, and resistance to rigid gender norms. By re-imagining the sari beyond tradition, Verma uses it as a vibrant symbol of inclusivity, and the freedom to inhabit one’s identity with pride and creativity. Himanshu is proudly redifining visibility amongst the definitions of tradition.
